Judge Richard D. Bennett of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland recently approved an $8 million settlement in a class-action case in which James P. Ulwick, a principal at Kramon & Graham, P.A., served as liaison counsel, class counsel, and as a member of Plaintiffs' Executive Committee. He frequently served as the voice of the plaintiffs' counsel before the U.S. District Court. Tyson Foods, Inc. had agreed to settle claims that it charged customers a premium for chickens that were fraudulently advertised as "Raised Without Antibiotics." The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation consolidated a number of cases from across the country into a single case for the purpose of pretrial proceedings and transferred the case to the District of Maryland.

Jim Ulwick is a civil and criminal litigator with a wide-ranging practice. He is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and a permanent member of the Judicial Conference for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He has been listed for more than 15 years in The Best Lawyers in America, and has been listed as a top-50 Maryland attorney by Maryland Super Lawyers for every year of the publication's existence. Chambers USA rated Ulwick as one of the best commercial litigators in Maryland for 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
