Amy E. Askew
Ms. Askew's practice is focused on commercial and civil litigation, as well as litigation involving transportation industries and healthcare and legal professionals. She has successfully defended railroads in injury and/or property claims brought by individuals or entities, as well as claims brought by railroad employees under the Federal Employers' Liability Act. Ms. Askew also has successfully defended actions against physicians and hospitals, as well as claims against businesses involving products and service. She has tried numerous jury and bench trials to verdict, and successfully argued in the appellate courts of Maryland.
Ms. Askew graduated magna cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2001, where she was the Marketing Editor for the University of Baltimore Law Review, a Staff Editor for the University of Baltimore Law Forum and the Chairperson for the National Conference of Law Reviews. During law school, Ms. Askew received the Dean's Citation for Service and was a Law Scholar for Constitutional Law.
Ms. Askew is listed as one of the "Rising Stars" in Maryland Super Lawyers 2009 and 2010.
Ms. Askew is a member of the Maryland State Bar and has been admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She is active in the Defense Research Institute, the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association and the Baltimore City Bar Association.
