Approximately 90 percent of all accidents occur due to human error. In spite of their awareness of the risk, experience, training, and knowledge, people often make decisions and behave in ways that increase the risk of an accident or injury. In The Science of Human Factors: Case Studies from the Field, Kramon & Graham trial attorney Amy Askew and Rimkus Consulting Group Vice President Farheen S. Khan, Ph.D. will offer insight on the human factors that contribute to accident causation in cases related to transportation and product liability. Factors such as risk perception, gaze behavior, perception-response time, driver decision-making, fatigue, and more will be discussed in an effort to help participants understand the key issues involved.
