Appellate AdvocacyExtensive experience in appellate litigation is another hallmark of the Firm. The Firm's lawyers have been counsel of record in many reported appellate decisions and regularly represent clients in federal and state appellate courts. Kevin F. Arthur, one of the Firm's principals, is the co-chair of the Appellate Practice Committee of the Litigation Section of the Maryland State Bar Association. In that capacity, he has written and lectured throughout the state on issues pertaining to appellate advocacy. Kramon & Graham's lawyers include former law clerks to a federal appeals court judge, the Senior Associate Judge of the Court of Appeals of Maryland, the State's highest court, and a judge on the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland. Several other of the Firm's lawyers were law clerks for judges on the United States District Court for District of Maryland and the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. Before becoming principals of the Firm, Philip M. Andrews was the deputy chief of an appellate division of Maryland's Attorney General's Office, where he and Gertrude C. Bartel briefed and argued numerous appeals on behalf of the State of Maryland. |
