Associate Life

Kramon & Graham hires associates with the expectation that they have the talent, dedication, and ability to become principals of the firm.

New associates often join the firm following a judicial clerkship or after participating in our Summer Associate Program.

Associates are given substantial responsibility at an early stage in their careers. As an associate, you will have direct contact with clients and, consistent with your experience and ability, take or defend depositions, appear in court, and close transactions.

Our litigation associates work on high-stakes commercial and criminal matters under the supervision of firm principals. As a litigation associate, you will work on a variety of matters. It's not unusual to work on a white-collar criminal case one day and a construction defect case the next. Senior associates in our insurance coverage area tend to be more dedicated to that specific practice.

Our transaction associates work with firm principals in the real property and business law groups. Their work typically includes transactions involving the purchase or sale of real property or businesses, commercial real estate finance, land use, and, occasionally, real estate-oriented litigation. Many of our clients are entrepreneurs with unique transactions resulting in opportunities for creative drafting, deal-structuring, and problem-solving.

Kramon & Graham has always attracted highly motivated top-quality lawyers with a commitment to excellence. In our hiring criteria, we look for lawyers with exceptional writing skills, initiative, personal presence, a strong work ethic, and who seek a varied experience in their practice.
