Biography

Isabelle Raquin's passion and talent is in litigation. She has earned a reputation for being one of Maryland's finest trial and appellate lawyers. Isabelle defends clients accused of serious and complicated crimes in state and federal courts. Her criminal defense practice includes post-conviction proceedings and appeals. She has handled many high-profile and important cases. Isabelle has tried more than 50 jury trials and successfully created new law on matters of first impression in the Supreme Court of Maryland. She serves as the co-chair of the criminal law section of the Montgomery County Bar Association and is a member of the executive committee of the Montgomery County Bar Association. Isabelle is also a member of the criminal section council of the Maryland State Bar Association, the second vice-president of the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorney Association, and an editor of the MSBA appellate blog.

Isabelle is the current Attorney Liaison for Drug Court in Montgomery County Maryland. Her experience handling felony drug distribution charges, and her knowledge of substance use addiction and treatment, make her an accomplished defense attorney in the context of Problem Solving Courts. Isabelle also serves on the Alcohol and Other Drug Addiction Advisory Council (AODAAC) of Montgomery County.

Isabelle's criminal defense practice includes the representation of defendants in white-collar investigations and prosecutions, including tax and fraud investigations, as well as IRS civil audits across the United States.

Isabelle is also an accomplished trial attorney in civil-litigation matters. Born and raised in France where she obtained her first law degree from the prestigious school of Sciences-Po Paris before attending Duke Law School, her civil practice includes representing French companies in employment defense matters in the United States. Isabelle is featured on the French Embassy website and is regularly invited on French national TV to comment on various issues regarding the US legal system.
