Biography
Katy advises developers, homebuilders, and landowners on mixed-use, residential, and commercial projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Her practice spans land acquisition, development, association creation, lending, and entity formation and dissolution. Clients rely on her for strategic guidance from initial planning through project completion.
With a background in representing both developer- and member-controlled homeowners' associations and condominium boards, Katy brings insight into the governance and operational aspects of residential communities. She is particularly skilled at navigating the intersection of private development and public interest, having collaborated closely with local and municipal governments on behalf of her clients to achieve solutions for moving projects to successful completions.
Raised on the Delmarva Peninsula and now based on Maryland's Western Shore, Katy is attuned to the distinct development dynamics of rural, coastal, and urban regions.
Before joining the Firm, Katy practiced at regional law firms and in a local real estate-focused practice, advising extensively on common-interest communities.
A graduate from the University of Baltimore School of Law, Katy served as the Symposium Editor of The University of Baltimore Journal of Land and Development.
