Maryland Impact Decisions

Steve KlepperAppellate practice leader Steve Klepper recently moderated “Maryland Impact Decisions,” a panel discussion covering some of the most important decisions that the Court of Appeals of Maryland issued over the past year. Sponsored by the Maryland State Bar Association, the decisions discussed included the availability of an imperfect self-defense jury instruction in murder-for-hire cases, the standard Maryland trial courts should apply in civil and criminal cases when determining the admissibility of expert testimony, and a major decision concerning venue in civil cases that was issued the same day as the program. Panelists included the Honorable Glenn T. Harrell, Jr., a retired Judge of the Court of Appeals of Maryland; attorney Timothy F. Maloney, and Assistant Attorney General Carrie Williams, Chief of the Criminal Appeals Division for the Maryland Office of the Attorney General.
