The Daily Record names Kramon & Graham HR Director Katy Schmidt to its 2023 Leaders in Law honor role

Katy SchmidtKramon & Graham announced today that its Director of Human Resources, Katelyn M. Schmidt, has been named a Daily Record 2023 Leaders in Law honoree. All Leaders in Law winners will be recognized at a reception held at the BWI Hilton in Baltimore on April 25, 2023.

The Leaders in Law Award honors a select group of Maryland legal professionals whose dedication to their work deserves particular recognition. The award pays tribute to all the ways in which legal professionals are serving clients, colleagues, and communities across Maryland. Winners are selected by an outside panel of legal and business leaders.

Katy was selected for the Law Firm Support Staff category in recognition of the critical role she plays at the firm, particularly during the height of the pandemic. Katy joined Kramon & Graham in the middle of 2020, when employers and employees were largely working remotely as a consequence of the spreading virus. Without the ability to meet everyone in person, Katy was thrust into an extraordinarily challenging and ever-developing work environment. She spared no time in applying her expertise and HR leadership.

A veteran HR professional with more than 20 years of experience, Katy brings substantial skill to her role at Kramon & Graham in areas including recruitment, employee relations, policy design, systems implementation, and employee benefits.

Prior Kramon & Graham Leaders in Law honorees include attorneys Philip Andrews, Jeffrey Scherr, David Shuster, Ezra Gollogly, Steven Klepper, and Christopher Jeffries. In 2011, firm co-founder Andrew Jay Graham received the Top Leadership in Law Award and in 2018, health care lawyer Natalie McSherry was selected for the Leadership in Law Lifetime Achievement Award.
